🛍️ Local Boat Clubs - Longing to get out on the water but not ready to buy a boat?

Perhaps we have the solution…a “boat club”. There are several in the area that offer a variety of boating options. They are all pretty similar…you pay a onetime initiation fee (like a country club…fees vary, usually $3k-$5k) and a monthly fee to reserve and use the boats. There are some parameters such as the boats need to be back before dark and usually not allowed to venture into the ocean. But, there is plenty of water to explore for fishing, water sports and cruising. If you are not an experienced boater, all clubs offer training. Check out some of these clubs…

  1. Nautical Boat Club - Mount Pleasant

  2. Care Free Boat Club - Daniel Island and Downtown Charleston

  3. Freedom Boat Club - Charleston City Marina

  4. Seabreeze Boat Club - Under Ravenel Bridge, Charleston

  5. West Ashley Boat Club - West Ashley

“Your whole day can’t be great if it doesn’t start that way!”

Jim, Founder of Liberty Beans Coffee Company

Jim spilled the beans (see what we did there ) on the green coffee bean industry. Says Jim…”we only purchase the best arabica beans that allow us to produce incredible tasting coffee without bitterness. Our coffee is known for its low acid content as well”.

Diane also heads up Liberty Beans fundraising programs. “We work with schools, teams, organizations and charities to help them reach and exceed their fundraising goals. For schools and teams, we realized that whatever kids are selling…adults are buying. We work with them to create a custom label for the coffee bags to highlight their organization. It has been tremendously successful!”

🍴 Local Bites

DC-based best pizzeria in America (2017) opening Charleston Location. Timber Pizza Company, founded in 2014, is targeting a July opening. Founder Andrew Dana attended College of Charleston. He and his partner tapped local Jeremy Waybright formally of Tempest to lead Timber Charleston. Expect creative Neapolitan-ish wood fired pizzas and, of course, a full bar (it IS Charleston). King Street.

We recently visited Evo Pizzeria in Park Circle. Service and food were outstanding! We sat at the small bar and had a view of the pizza chefs performing their works of yummy art. Start off with a local beer then flow into a bottle of red to match the (smallish) menu. We loved the Pork Trifecta and the Margherita!
