• Mayor Race heats up in Mount Pleasant. Voters will head to the polls on Nov. 4 in Mount Pleasant to decide who will lead South Carolina’s fourth-largest town for the next four years.

  At the heart of the race is a question about experience. Incumbent Mayor Will Haynie is seeking a third term and says his track record over the last 8 years proves he should be trusted with four more. His opponent is Curt Thomas. He’s a former state trooper and Air Force officer who describes himself as a father first. He has no political experience but says that’s actually a good quality.

The 54th annual Scottish Games will be held at Riverfront Park Saturday, November 1st from 9am-5pm.

It’s almost time for the 54th Annual Scottish Games and Highland Gathering in Charleston! Join us at this incredible event, organized by the Scottish Society of Charleston, as we travel to Scotland for the day. Celebrate and enjoy the rich history and culture of Scotland with an incredible line up of events ranging from athletics to live music. Thrill at competitions of athletic prowess, musical skill on the legendary bagpipes, and the beauty of highland dance.
